Christmas 2013- Hosting with New Horizons for Children

It will soon be time to meet our guest, Nadiya.  She is an orphanage director from Ukraine,
chaperoning children who are visiting hosting families this Christmas.

Chaperones enrich our lives and the lives of the children they serve. We are excited and can't
wait to share Christ and Christmas with Nadiya!

Summer 2013- Hosting season ends

Olha, who became our friend, left on July 29. We are so thankful for her and the other chaperones who left their families, for these five weeks, so that many children could spend time with a family. We pray that many have discovered their Heavenly Father.

As for our Latvian boy, who just left yesterday, he kept us all entertained... as we tried to entertain him. He visited with a Latvian American friend, went to Deep Creek Lake, Hershey Chocolate World, and a York Revolution baseball game among many things, including just hanging out with family. He always gives thanks in his prayers and always enjoys a hosting season.

Thank you to our support team

  • Thank you New Horizons for Children, Le Ann Dakake, staff, and hosting families for what you do for God, and for what you show me!  Thank you chaperones for bringing the children!
  • Thank you Stacy Workman and Lisa Spangler for your personal support and help.
  • Thank you to Dr. Tinanoff, Dr. Leventer, and all those at the University of MD Dental Clinic who donated to Aleks during the Christmas 2012 hosting season and who are helping again.
  • Thank you to the medical community in the Gettysburg area who donated care through previous hosting seasons:  Dr. Tully, Dr. Adams, Dr. Enriquez, and Dr. Whitlock.
  • Thank you Lord for allowing us to serve you!  Please fill us with love and wisdom so we can serve you better.

Family Foundation since Genesis- Uncle Tom's Cabin quote

"This, indeed, was a home, --home,-- a word that George had never yet known a meaning for; and a belief in God, and trust in His providence, began to encircle his heart, as, ...atheistic doubts, and fierce despair, melted away before the light of a living Gospel, breathed in living faces, preached by a thousand unconscious acts of love and good-will... from Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe

Summer 2013- Hosting with New Horizons for Children

Aleks returns "home" for the 4th time.  I can't wait to hear him say hi to the cat and race to his bedroom.  It is a wonderful blessing to know that Aleks has a sense of belonging.  Please pray that Aleks would find a forever family.

We are also welcoming another chaperone- Olha, a teacher, from a orphanage school, in Ukraine.  She will be with us for two weeks in July.  Many thanks to these adults who fly over with the children.  Without the chaperones, the children would not have the opportunity to be hosted by families and experience the love of Christ!
